Hello everyone! It’s been a while, I know. I wanted to take this time moment to clarify some things and also post a much needed update along with more Eden content, so let’s get right into it. First off, I’ve received plenty of messages, emails, posts, and general questions about what’s going on so here’s the itemized response to those.
Number 1: For any who didn’t see the earlier announcement, I have decided to continue only selling my books on Amazon for the foreseeable future. The reason for that is simple: censorship. As it turns out, Amazon is pretty cool with the artwork included with the books thus far (just can’t have anything R+ rated on the cover, of course), but other online ebook retailers aren’t so cool with it. Many of the pictures, some which appeared pretty tame to begin with, were flagged as “inappropriate”, and the books were blocked unless they were removed. Not wishing to have any of my content censored, I’ve declined to do so and will continue selling exclusively on Amazon. Honestly, I just had the idea of censorship in general, and we all know its always a slippery slope before more and more things get flagged as such. So there you have it, my books are still and will continue to be on my Amazon store page only. Should this ever change I’ll be sure to let you know, but don’t expect it to change anytime soon.
Number 2: Okay, so I’ve gotten just about a few more bricks through my windows at this point than I needed to, so let’s get this next point made as clear as can be. The next book I’m working on will be out when it’s ready, we’re all eager to see it published, I know. However, as all of you have noticed, it’s been quite some time since the last release. I mentioned this in an earlier post, but I’ll repeat it here so everyone is on the same page. The reason it’s not out yet is because I don’t have anywhere near the same amount of free time I used to when it came to writing. What I’m talking about is a few things:
- My day job has changed. Better pay (yay!) but more time and energy consuming (boo!)
- My family and living have changed. Bigger home (yay!), but more bills to pay (boo!). Got married (yay!), but more mouths to feed (eh, can’t complain. She’s a great cook. Me… not so much).
- Free time has diminished. Such is life.
Now, when I first started publishing books, I had plenty of time and energy to focus on such, and everyone knows I was able to rapid-fire those releases. Not going to lie, I miss those days, I do, and I’m thankful I was able to make such large strides with getting so many books out, so quickly, while I was able to do that. But, sadly, things are different for me now, and I’m not able to do that. As you’ve all seen, I’ve been working hard on just getting the next book out with what time I can get for it. It’s tough, but at least I’m able to make some progress rather than none.
So, the answer to what everyone is wondering is this: No, I haven’t given up on writing, rather I’m trying to work in what writing I can to my new life. As much as I love creating these new characters and worlds, I do have other priorities that I previously mentioned, and some have to come before my hobbies. Again, such is life.
Now then, when will the next book be out? Honestly, I’m hoping to have it out soon, this summer at the latest if possible. Will it be worth the wait? I’m trying my hardest to make it so. That’s all I can realistically do. All I can do is hope you’ll understand this and continue to be patient.
Number C (because why not): But now for something a bit more exciting for readers. As I said, I’m trying to get the next book out soon, and that being the case I figure now is as good as time as any to post a preview chapter to Chronicles of Eden: Season II – Act III for readers to take an early peek at if they so choose. If you’re eager to see how the next book will start, the first chapter of the book is ready for viewing from the link below.
As always, thank you for your support and patience. Here’s to making this year a great one, both for our lives in the real world and also our journey through the world of Eden.
