Last week I lowered the prices on all my books on Amazon in both an effort to appeal to more customers and offer a cheaper price for current and new readers. And up to now I’ve noticed a big difference, just not in the way I wanted. Number of sales haven’t really changed, I don’t think the price point was ever a contender against new readers in the first place, but my income sure did (weak laugh). All lowering the prices like I did accomplished was just hurting my own royalties and not gaining any more or less traction with readers than before. So, it’s easy to call that plan a bust.
That being said, I’m going to be changing the prices for all digital copies of books I sell so as not to cripple myself with my income for them. The paperback versions however are nice where they’re at now so I’m going to leave them as they are. And after I do all that, it’s back to the drawing board for new ideas to help the community grow while at the same time allowing me to still eat everyday. Just wanted to let you all know what was happening and that I’m not trying to pull a switch-a-roo on anyone with the pricing.
And with that, I’m back to work again. Until next time!
