It’s been a long time coming for this and I know many have been waiting for this particular announcement. The time has finally come to say that “Yes, Chronicles of Eden is now available in physical books you can hold with your own hands! You can even throw them like bricks given how big some of them are!”. I have arranged all my Chronicles of Eden books that are being published through Draft2Digital to be made into print books for your reading pleasure, because for some there just isn’t any beating that feeling of holding a real book compared to a digital ebook reader.

As to what retailers you can find them at, that’s a bigger explanation than I figured would be the case. Draft2Digital doesn’t print the books themselves, they publish the manuscript to Ingram, which distributes the books to, and I quote, “tens of thousands” of online retailers that offer print books. To illustrate this fact, here is the official list of where the books are made available from Ingram’s own website.

As you can see, that’s a lot of places the books are going to be found. This doesn’t mean I have an author page setup with these retailers though, there won’t be a central hub created for all my books. Simply put, readers can go to any of the many retailers that Ingram publishes to, and search for my books with their own website search engine. The books are set to be made the same way, with the same covers and manuscripts, so it doesn’t matter where you choose to buy them from. All that is different between them is what retailer you order them from.

With that now being explained, I want to let readers know about two additional facts about the new paperback books.

For one, yes, it does list Amazon as a retailer. And yes, I’ve checked, and most of the books have actually reappeared on Amazon again in print form, including my former author page bio and, in some cases, all the reviews that were once posted for that book in the past. I have spoken with Draft2Digital about my Amazon account being terminated in the past, and that I didn’t want it to seem like I was trying to circumvent Amazon’s policies by sneaking my books back on there (I have no control whatsoever where Ingram publishes the books). While the books are available on Amazon, there is no guarantee they will remain that way. It is very possible Amazon will remove them from its website again. So for those who spot my books on Amazon, just know that there’s no telling how long they’ll be there for, and that this isn’t a sign of me returning to selling my ebooks on that platform. Amazon already burned that bridge down, I wouldn’t choose to sell on their platform at all if given the chance again.

Second, there has been a change to the new paperback books in one big way: they no longer have an Artwork section in the back. The reason for this is the same reason why the ebooks sold through Draft2Digital also had their art sections removed; the spicy pictures were blocking the books from being sold to some retailers. In fact, new covers for S2 Act II and S2 Act III had to be made to better cover up Clover in order to allow the print books to be published. In the end, I decided it was best and safer to simply remove the artwork sections from the paperback books so as to avoid any unnecessary problems with the retailers blocking or taking them down in the future. As sad as it is, it seems many people these days are pretty sensitive about boobs and butts, and will throw a tantrum if they see them. So in order to publish to a wide audience, this sacrifice had to be made. Of course all the artwork is still available on my websites and blogs, and will continue to be as well. And for those ordering the ebooks on Google Play, you can rest easy knowing that particular retailer doesn’t mind having the artwork sections in the back, so those are just as they’ve always been.

So for any watching the book page sections on my websites, wondering when the links to the print books will be added in, I’m sorry to say they won’t be. The number of links I would have to make would require its own website (and maybe a hired moderator to handle it) just to keep that posted and updated accordingly. But if you like shopping at Barnes & Noble or another book retailer you prefer, keep your eyes open for the Chronicles of Eden books to pop up in the search results there.

I will admit it was nice and easy having all my books listed on Amazon at the time, but now that the phrase “don’t keep all your eggs in one basket” has rang so true, it’s a welcome change to have the books being made available to readers on so many more platforms in different formats. I look forward to publishing the next entries in Chronicles of Eden, and being able to include paperback formats for them as well.
